Reviews
As a beginner () watch enthusiast, I salivate about getting this watch for an extremely long time. I wanted to see that I wouldn 't always have to change the battery, and one that had an outer rim rotating cylinder in minutes (useful to avoid parking tickets in town). Also, I wanted it to complete my watch another (SKX031 Seiko), which was a Seiko diver traditional. R rWhen the watch arrived I 'wait to try it. These were my first impressions: r rthe Good: r (1) The clock looked like it does in photos. No complaints here. R (2) The ring is unidirectional and has a feeling _very_ smooth. Much better than my two-SKX031. R (3) The clock is rated to 10 bar (clear from the post) - that the information packet Seiko is good for the constant wear when taking baths / showers. All good so far. R rThen tried to load it with a few shakes of the wrist. Now for the next bit: r rthe Bad: r (1) Stirring the clock (for mechanically charging the internal battery / capacitor) was a noisy than I anticipated. At first I thought it was broken. To get an idea, my Google search on it was "Seiko Kinetic grinding noise ". But after reading more opinions on Seiko Kinetics I 've found this is just one facet of the kinetic mechanism liquidation. For those of us who like to Automatic (self winding) watches, where the mechanic of settlement is a subtle, almost invisible feeling Seiko kinetic mechanism of settlement is an auditory experience much harsher metallic and courageous. R r (2) After 3 - 5 minutes of continuous agitation of the clock - the second measure is the hand pointing to the energy charge was "down ". I 'm not talking about the secondary button depressed - I'm talking about the second hand move in increments of 2 seconds, indicating a low energy reserve. It made me think that my clock just wasn 't charge, or the capacitor was dead - until I read an analysis indicating that it may take up to 24,000 (yes twenty-four thousand) movements of the wrist to carry this watch. This in itself isn 'ta bad. But putting that together with the above paragraph 1 and I was quickly beginning to lose my enchantment with this clock. R rok now for the rest: r (1) I happily assumed so much that I never need to replace the unit of electrical charge to the clock (the capacitor battery /) - which for me was one of the larger resorts. Unfortunately nothing (nothing special that holds a charge) is forever. I admit that this is my fault not having done due diligence - but if I knew beforehand that it probably would not have bought this watch. R r rOverall clock I gave 3 stars. It would have a lower classification, except I recognize this is a bias automatic watches on my part. Still - I haven 'T decided if I ' m going back the clock yet. For the price ($ 155 at Amazon ish) It 's still a much better deal than you get started on Ebay, and perhaps the feeling of grinding won ' t be as noticeable when its on the wrist and called at the time. R rI ll 'have to see. Maybe I ll 'just bite the bullet and get another automatic watch instead.
This is a great watch that looks just as it does in the picture, if not better. Eerything was exactly as described and in new condition. Fast shipping, great seller, very pleased in general.
