Kinetics: a technological power in innovationLike mechanical and quartz, Kinetic is a platform. Over the past 20 years, SEIKO has created on this platform a set of Kinetic movements, each bringing unique features to consumer. It was in the 1986 Basel Fair that SEIKO unveiled its first prototype Kinetic. Introduced under the name of the trial "AGM" was the first watch in the world to convert kinetic movement into electrical energy. It was the first step in a development that, 20 years later, made Kinetic synonymous with environmental friendliness, high performance and long-term comfort to a generation of users worldwide. Since launching in 1988 the first commercially available watch (then under the new name AGS) until today, over eight million Kinetic watches have been sold (in 2007). In 1998, Kinetic Auto Relay was released, the extension of the 'AT - rest period' of operation of the watch to a remarkable 4 years. 1999 saw the release of Ultimate Kinetic Chronograph, a masterpiece that fused the best of mechanical and electronic watch Seiko making skills, and in 2003 another Kinetic Chronograph was launched. At Baselworld 2005, the Kinetic Perpetual made its first appearance, combining Kinetic convenience and longevity with a perpetual calendar, correct for the year 2100. In 2007, emotional Seiko Kinetic Direct Drive technology is introduced.
Reviews
This is a very nice and very comfortable watch appropriate for formal or semi-formal occasions. The watch is looking brighter than in the photo, and the metals pick up gold or silver or platinum items in one 's dress. I have not left the watch idle for months, but the auto-wind feature certainly lasts throughout a long weekend. R rthe only fault I find is that the date is a bit difficult to read with "old-guy vision " (which is to say without my reading glasses at -1.5 Dioptrio correction).
The dial is for young eyes. Without lenses or young, is the face of a challenging glare. With such, it is a beauty of elegant style.
This clock actually looks better than what appears in the picture. It loses about 2 to 3 seconds each week, but that's good enough for me. R rfor people who are considerating a "kinetic " watch: A factor you may want to consider is the time that the clock can maintain power and keep counting. This (SKA218) can contain up to six months. Some other watches Seiko Kinetic can contain only a few days or few weeks (I did a little research and found the data available on the website of Seiko). If you don 't like the "power-if" his watch, shaking it every day, this is definitely the choice.
